A little about me

I take every project very seriously and feel very lucky to have found my way to this profession as it allows me to be intimately tied to every decision that a person needs to make in order to design their best domestic life.

I am a mother of three and know how complicated and fleeting the childhood years are and what it takes to have a residence that truly works for every scenario of your family life. I have the opportunity to create spaces that are not only functional but also nurturing and adaptable.

Timelessness is an essential aspect of design, especially when it comes to creating a “forever home.” A well-designed space should be able to stand the test of time and provide comfort, functionality, and aesthetic appeal without having to remodel again.

Listening to my clients’ needs, understanding their lifestyle, and incorporating their personal tastes and preferences into the design process are crucial aspects of creating timeless spaces. Each project is a delicate collaboration between myself, the owner and the different parties involved in making the dream home.

I am a licensed California Architect with a Masters in Architecture from UC Berkeley.

Reiko Michlig is the best ever. She’s super sharp, knowledgeable, creative, cognizant, dedicated, and has a great personality. I’ve been working with Reiko for about 4 or 5 months as of now. In that time, Reiko has been more productive than all other design professionals I’ve worked with over the last 30 years, combined. I met Reiko after my architectural designer told me that it would take 8 months to complete 134 corrections handed to me from the Los Angeles Building Department. I found Reiko and she was able to complete all of the corrections and significantly improve the design in less than 3 weeks. Crazy, right? Ou house design features a new 4,000 + home with 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a sunroom, and a roof deck. Listen, I hesitate to write this review because Reiko has consistently been available whenever I need her for my design projects. I just hope that she’s not too busy because everyone will want to hire her. One other thing: she is incredibly responsive. I was amazed at how quickly Reiko produces stunning results with such professionalism. I have since recommended Reiko to 4 of my clients. I have no higher regard for anyone. I would say good luck, but you won’t need luck. Cheers!

Reiko listened to what I wanted & then came up with different designs for me to choose from. She then made changes we discussed giving me her professional input. Reiko found structural engineers for me to chose from. She guided me successfully through the city approval process. After I finally was able to start construction the contractor needed to consult with her & she responded immediately as often as needed. Reiko made a not very fun process doable & sometimes fun. I would use her again.
